Guru Purnima is a tradition dedicated to all the spiritual and academic Gurus, who are evolved or enlightened humans, ready to share their wisdom, based on Karma Yoga. It is celebrated as a festival in India. This festival is traditionally observed to honour one’s chosen spiritual teachers or leaders. It is observed on the Full Moon Day in the Hindu month of Ashadha as it is known in the Hindu calendar. The festival was revived by Mahatma Gandhi to pay tribute to his spiritual guru, Shrimad Rajchandra. It is also known as Vyasa Purnima, for it marks the birthday of Veda Vyasa, the sage who authored the Mahabharata and complied with the Vedas.
Guru Purnima is celebrated to honour our teachers, who remove the darkness from our minds. They have a special place in the lives of their followers since ancient times. An age-old Sanskrit phrase ‘Mata Pitah Guru Daivam’, says that the first place is reserved for the mother, second for the father, third for Guru and forth for God. Thus, teachers have been given a higher place than God.
To honour the professor, students of the college celebrated Guru Purnima. The celebration started with lightning the auspicious lamp by Trustee – Mr. Hiren Patel, Campus Director – Mr. Mukund Patel Principal Dr. Vipul Shastri and other faculties followed by prayer and speech. It was a complete festive ambience with the decorated seminar hall. The students recited shlokas about gurus followed by many exciting activities like slogans, poetry, songs, and game for the professors. Our college students expressed gratitude by presenting flowers and gifts as a “Guru Dakshina’. There was a happy atmosphere in the seminar hall. It was wonderfully organized and managed by all our loving students.
Principal Dr Vipul Shastri has given a very good message to the students that they should interact with their professor about all their study-related problems, then only you can make a good relationship with your Guru. Then, Mr. Hiren Patel & Mr. Mukund Patel gave a motivational speech on the importance of Guru in life.
