Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated on 2nd October every year to mark the birth anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, who was famously known as Mahatma Gandhi. Father of the Nation, as he was called, led India’s freedom movement along with many other national leaders against the British rule in India.
Objective
The day honours the “universal significance of the concept of nonviolence” with the goal to “secure a culture of peace, tolerance, understanding, and nonviolence.” On Gandhi Jayanti, people recall his important contributions to India’s liberation struggle and independence movement.
Details of the Program
Vidyadeep Charitable Trust managed by Shri S. R. Patel B. Ed. On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the college celebrated Gandhi Jayanti on 1 October 2022, Saturday. The program started at 10:30 am.
Professor Shri Jayashriben, who served as the in-charge principal of the institute, and all the professors of the institute were present in the presiding position of this program. The program was started by Lamp Lighting. A prayer was then offered. The words of the prayer were “Om Tatsat Sri….”
The entire program was managed by Tripti Patel, a first year trainee, presented the speech by Vidhi Patel. Then Bapu’s favorite Bhajan “Vaishnavajan” was performed by the trainees. When the song “Vaishnavajana” was sung. At that time, smiles spread on the faces of all those present in the program. His 11 Mahavratas were imparted by Kayat Ateka.
Why Gandhi Great? by Professor Sanjaybhai Patel presented a talk on the subject. Acharya Jayashreeben, the in-charge of the college, spoke about making the Gandhi Jayanti day meaningful by bringing Gandhi’s idea to life. And students were encouraged for the program. Apart from this, the program was completed with Garba.
At the final stage of the program, a what of thanks ceremony was done by Drishti Patel of the trainee. The program was celebrated very nicely with the cooperation of all.
